I'm on 100% clay. My first deck, using wooden posts placed on floating concrete slabs, was a disaster. The frost pushed the deck up 9" each winter at the part farthest from the house. Pylex 50" screws solved the problem. I love them. Some screws sank about 1" after the first winter but the adjusting nut allowed me to fix that. The screws have been stable since then. I considered concrete posts. I'm so glad I didn't use concrete. The Pylex cost savings was in the thousands of dollars. |

We decided to rebuild our deck using the synthetic material " TREX " . In order to avoid showing screws on the top side we decided on using the " PYLEX " decktrack system with rather great success. With the exception of stairs no screws are noticeable. The TREK personnel agreed on the use of this system and I am fully satisfied with the final result.
Try it and you will definitely enjoy the final look. |

I am just about to build my 2nd project with the pylex foundation screws. i built a large deck with a gazebo about 3 years ago and was very impressed with how easy the product is to use and how well it works. i have checked the deck with a level in all seasons and it has never moved at all. i do not understand why anyone would still use sonotubes and concrete when there is a much better and easier way now available.thanks again, Sean Traviss |
